Compare the same work

A quote for extraction may exclude drying, demolition, contents or rebuilding. Ask each business to identify rooms, materials, quantities and exclusions. An unexplained total cannot establish that two proposals cover the same result.

List fixed and continuing charges

Ask about assessment, setup, daily equipment, monitoring, disposal and removal charges. Identify when daily billing starts and stops. Request the process for authorizing additional work and recording revised costs. No price range is promised here because actual scope has not been assessed.

Document the completion criteria

Ask what observations establish completion and who provides the record. Drying equipment removal and being ready for reconstruction are separate decisions. Review the moisture evidence guide alongside the proposal.

Keep insurance separate

Your policy and insurer determine coverage. Ask the insurer about documentation and approved processes without treating a contractor’s estimate as a coverage decision. Retain all written changes and receipts.

Connect the guidance to the service

Review structural drying before discussing the assessment. Confirm the business, address availability, charges and written scope directly.
